What To Do With Your Hot Tub When You Go Away On Holiday

If you are going on holiday turning your spa off might seem like the best option, however this isn’t ideal and with these few simple steps you can return from your holiday and get straight in your spa after the torturous journey home.

Spa Settings;
You will need to decide if you want to keep your spa water up to temperature whilst you are away, taking into consideration electricity consumption and whether you wish to jump right in as soon as you get home.

• Start by reducing your spa temperature to the lowest temperature setting (unless you want to dive in as soon as you’re back then leave it up to temperature)
• Adjust your Sleep time to come on around 12 hours a day – this will save electricity consumption – works best when spa temperature has been reduced
• While you are away from home, the best way to ensure that sanitiser remains at the right levels is to use an inline tablet feeder with either Chlorine or Bromine tablets
• Shock your Spa water with your relevant shock treatment, taking the levels to 10ppm
• Check ph and total alkalinity levels are correct, and dose as required- advise levels
• Clean filters will help keep your water clean during filtration while you’re away and catch any debris that might be in the water
• Remove hot tub pillows and accessories inside your spa to keep them in the best quality
• Be sure to Lock your cover to prevent this coming off in high winds and keep out any sneaky neighbours that might take a dip
• If you are planning on being away for more than 2 weeks, please contact your hot tub supplier regarding a shut down service

We also recommend purchasing a WiFi module for your (spa net) spa. You can then have the benefit of reduced electricity consumption by turning the temperature down and then turn the temperature up via the app on your phone the day before you return, allowing you to use your spa as soon as you get home.
